Wednesday on Bloomberg TV’s “With All Due Respect,” co-host Mark Halperin said former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a candidate for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, avoiding to comment on the current fast track trade battle between Senate Democrats and President Barack Obama shows a “lack of leadership.”
On Hillary’s silence Halperin said, “It’s a lack of leadership.”
However, Halperin also added, “Maybe this is the best thing for her. She is alienating both sides by not taking a position. But I think if she took a position, there would be a firestorm. And by laying low and hoping the thing goes away—the press does not like it. We do not like it, we think it is a lack of leadership. I know we both agree. But taking a position would be really politically dangerous for her.”
