Last week the American flag adorning the front of the house belonging to retired Marine Marvin Hernandez Garcia was desecrated and his car was smashed with the flagpole.
Garcia believes that the “stomp the flag challenge” on social media outlets may have prompted the vandalism.
Fox News revealed that America’s Mighty Warriors, a group that helps support military families, will help Hernandez Garcia cover the costs of repairing his car and purchasing a new flagpole. Moreover, AMW will sponsor a weekend vacation for the veteran and his significant other.
As a tibute to the former soldier, a flag will be flown over the U.S. Capitol.
“The message that I would like to say is America is still the greatest country in the world,” Hernandez Garcia remarked on Fox and Friends Weekend. “It’s not something that we are just brainwashed with. We are still the greatest country. We got problems. Everybody does. Let’s talk about things. Let’s not destroy things. Our country needs dialogue more than violence.”
