Former Republican Congresswoman Sandy Adams has all but announced that she is running for Rep. Ron DeSantis’s soon-to-be open congressional seat. The popular member of Congress declared that he would seek to replace Senator Marco Rubio in the U.S. Senate.
After State Rep. Fred Costello endorsed Sandy Adams to replace Desantis on a Daytona Beach radio station this week, Adams told the same radio show that she was in fact thinking about making another run for Congress in Florida’s 6th congressional district.
Adams reached out to me and reaffirmed that she was “strongly considering” a run for DeSantis’s congressional seat, saying that, in the time she spent away from Congress, she was able to meet Americans from all walks of life who expressed to her their concerns for the country.
Those interactions with everyday Americans, including the concern for her granddaughter’s future, are the reasons why Adams is looking at running for Congress again.
It is expected that no less than 6-7 Republicans may make a run for DeSantis’s congressional seat.
