Perry: Labor Participation Rate Reveals a Sick, Hopeless Economy

Friday on WKBK Radio’s “Good Morning with Dan Mitchell,” Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) said the key to economic numbers released today is the participation rate of America workers which reveals a “sick” economy which is causing people to “give up hope.”

Perry said, “We’ve got a lot of Americans that are underemployed, unemployed, or just have completely given up hope because of the regulatory climate, the tax structure that we’ve got in the country … I look at this participation rate as being one of the real indicators of the economy being sick, and we know it’s sick, we feel it, we see it in our communities and we’ve got to get back to having a policy in this country that basically gives job creators the comfort that they can risk their capital.”
