“CNN Newsroom” anchor Carol Costello characterized Peter Schweizer’s upcoming book “Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich” as “real vitriol” on Monday.
Costello, who was discussing Hillary Clinton’s campaign with Senior Washington Correspondent Jeff Zeleny, and had previously laughed at Rand Paul’s joke that Hillary would need another plane for her “baggage,” said “so the vitriol, the real vitriol I’m talking about, is yet to come. There’s a new book coming out called ‘Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich,'” before reading an excerpt from the book and asking Zeleny if Hillary’s income will make it hard to convince voters that she relates to them.
Zeleny stated that relating to voters is “one of the biggest challenges of her campaign, that she has to show that she can understand the troubles of working Americans and middle class Americans but can’t cross that line in saying ‘I’m too much like you.'”
