Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) responded to former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s anticipated announcement that she is running for president via social media by asking, “Is she trying to hide this thing?”
Hillary Clinton is rumored to announce she will run for president on Twitter with a video message on Sunday at noon.
“I think it is curious she chose to do this on a Sunday when people across the country are busy with their lives, they’re at church,” said Blackburn in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.
She said she believes the Democrats are trying to manage Clinton as she is going straight to Iowa after her announcement without addressing national media.
“I think what they are going to do is very carefully manage her appearances,” explained Blackburn, adding that the Democrats will “stage manage” her through this race.
Blackburn said she doesn’t think Clinton is strong enough to make this race, saying her record doesn’t reflect that she fights for the American dream.
Blackburn recalled in 2008 when the media turned against Clinton in favor of Obama, saying Clinton was out of that race in a matter of days. Blackburn believes Clinton can’t win if she doesn’t have the media playing interference for her.
She also predicted the Democrats will revamp the “war on women” argument, but she added that women want someone they can trust. However, Blackburn added that recent polls from key states suggest the public doesn’t favor Clinton on the issue of honesty and trust.
