On the eve of Hillary Clinton’s official entrance into the 2016 presidential contest, President Barack Obama on Saturday said that she would be an “excellent president.”
Obama said Clinton was “formidable” in 2008 and a “great supporter of mine in the general election.”
“She was an outstanding secretary of state, she is my friend, I think she would be an excellent president,” Obama said in Panama.
Clinton will announce her candidacy on Twitter on Sunday. That will be followed by a video announcement and trips to Iowa and New Hampshire.
Earlier in the week, Obama, whose political team and loyalists have feuded with the Clintons and their centrist brand of politics, said that if Clinton is “her wonderful self, I’m sure she is going to do great” in the 2016 campaign.
