MILFORD, New Hampshire — Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has already raised more than a million dollars in one day since announcing his campaign for the White House and is trying to push that total over $1.5 million.

“Incredible! Thousands of liberty-lovers have pushed my campaign’s Stand With Rand Money Bomb over $1,000,000 in online donations,” Paul wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday. “Let’s keep the momentum going and push on to $1.5 million!”

Paul announced his presidential campaign on Tuesday in Louisville, Kentucky, then traveled to New Hampshire for a rally in Milford and is on to South Carolina for a rally in the Charleston area on Thursday. He will be in Iowa Friday and in Las Vegas on Saturday.

In a 9-second Facebook video from a McDonald’s in New Hampshire, Paul said he’s taking his staff to eat from the Dollar Menu to make sure donors’ money “is spent wisely.”

The conservative Kentucky firebrand has seen an onslaught of attacks by the mainstream media, establishment Republicans, and Democrats in the short time he’s been a declared presidential candidate—a signal he and his aides say prove he’s a viable candidate for the White House and can win both the Republican nomination and general election.

He’s found himself toe-to-toe with Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL)—masterfully flipping a trick question from the liberal media about abortion exemptions back on her.

He’s also been teasing frequently—first in an interview with Breitbart News, but also at a press conference here early on Wednesday afternoon—new details forthcoming about a scandal that will rock former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“I think there is big news coming on the Clinton Foundation,” Paul said in response to a question from Fox News’ Carl Cameron. “I think there are things that went on at the Clinton Foundation that are going to shock people. And I think they’re going to make people question whether or not she ought to run for president.”

“Can you tell us what you’re talking about?” Cameron followed up.

“Then it wouldn’t be a secret any more, Carl!” Paul responded playfully. “It’s coming soon.”

As Breitbart News noted in an exclusive interview with Paul that Cameron was asking about, Paul’s statements come as Peter Schweizer of the Government Accountability Institute plans to release a bombshell book on the Clinton Foundation’s questionable activities.
