“Most of our laws are no longer made by people of our own choosing,” Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) says.
Lee appeared on Fox News Tuesday to discuss the overreach of executive branch bureaucrats.
In his office, Lee has a stack of 80,000 pages of regulations that govern the American people. The pile of rules, made by executive bureaucrats, stands at 11 feet tall. Next to that, he has a stack of documents reaching only a few inches: laws actually passed by Congress.
Most of the laws that govern us are “now attributable to laws that were put in place not by people who you elected, but by people that can’t be fired by the American people,” said Lee, “that’s disturbing.”
