No new deadline has been set, and no new details have emerged from nuclear talks with Iran, according to the White House.
During the White House Press Briefing today, Press Secretary Josh Earnest revealed that President Obama was briefed this morning on the current status of the talks still underway in Switzerland, but cautioned at the beginning of the briefing that he had no new details to report.
“The talks continue to be productive and progress is being made,” he insisted, adding that the United States and the international community involved with the talks was prepared to walk away if a good deal wasn’t reached.
Earnest added that Obama would speak publicly on the talks – regardless of whether a deal was reached. He offered no timeline, although the talks have extended well past the March 31st deadline. Talks would continue, he insisted, as long as progress was being made.
“These negotiations are not open-ended,” he stated.
