NASCAR announced it “will continue to welcome all competitors and fans” at its racing events in Indiana and other states. It’s responding to widespread criticism over the state’s religious liberty law.

NASCAR calls the recent legislation a disappointment. The group holds a major race in Indianapolis in July.

“We will not embrace nor participate in exclusion or intolerance,” NASCAR told CNN. “We are committed to diversity and inclusion within our sport and therefore will continue to welcome all competitors and fans at our events in the state of Indiana and anywhere else we race.”
