A pizza place is backing Indiana Governor Mike Pence for signing the state’s controversial Religious Freedom Act.
Memories Pizza is owned by the O’Connor family. According to the local ABC affiliate, “If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no,” Crystal O’Connor said. However, the O’Connor family says they would never deny service inside their establishment to a gay couple coming in to eat.
Memories Pizza is a Christian establishment that has been open for more than nine years.
“We’re not discriminating against anyone, that’s just our belief and anyone has the right to believe in anything,” says O’Connor.
O’Connor says she supports Indiana’s religious freedom law, which has been attacked by Democrats and the mainstream media for allegedly discriminating against homosexuals.
“I do not think it’s targeting gays. I don’t think it’s discrimination,” O’Connor said. “It’s supposed to help people that have a religious belief.”
