With drug treatment as a signature issue, it may not be a big surprise that NJ Governor Chris Christie continues to oppose legalizing marijuana for recreational use in New Jersey, going so far as to call potential tax revenues from the sale of pot “blood money.”
According to an AP report, Christie made the comment at the opening of a NJ drug treatment center on Wednesday.
Christie said pot is a gateway drug that would never be legalized in the state on his watch. The governor said he’s not going put the lives of children and citizens at risk to add money to the state’s coffers.
