BBC: Ted Cruz ‘Dangerous Underdog’

Labeling him “a dangerous underdog” in the coming Republican scramble for the GOP’s 2016 presidential nomination with a speaking style “a cross between Atticus Finch and Tony Robbins,” BCC News begins it’s look at U.S. presidential politics with a closer look at Texas Senator and presidential candidate Ted Cruz.

Cruz’s particular oratory – thundering lines punctuated by emotive whispers, all delivered while prowling the stage with a wireless microphone – was on full display as he announced his presidential candidacy on Monday morning at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

While the senator’s fiery manner and aggressive posture have lately made a name for him in national political circles, there’s more to him than meets the eye. Here are five things you should know about the Canadian-born son of a Cuban immigrant.

While noting a possible “uphill climb” for Cruz by citing his Senate race and listing his strengths, clearly the BCC isn’t writing him off, as some U.S. pundits seemed quick to do.
