In what could be perceived as a move to preserve his political career, Democrat Rep. Patrick Murphy (FL) is reportedly close to announcing that he will run for the U.S. Senate in 2016.

Murphy has stated that regardless of whether Senator Marco Rubio decides to run for president in 2016, he would test the Senate waters, raising questions as to what his true motive is for running for that Senate seat.

The seat Murphy currently holds leans Republican, and many believe that it is only a matter of time before another well-versed, Allen West-type Republican candidate emerges and defeats Murphy.

Amid speculation that there was rampant election fraud committed that favored his congressional campaign in 2012,  Murphy barely defeated former Congressman Allen West, but then trounced the Republican congressional nominee Carl Domino in his 2014 bid for reelection.

While Charlie Crist and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz have both announced they would not run for the Senate in 2016, Rep. Alan Grayson (D) has said that he would seek his party’s Senate nomination if Rep. Wasserman Schultz did not run for the seat.

The door for Grayson to run for the Senate in 2016 just opened.

Fellow Floridians and Americans across the country, I ask you to take a load off your feet, grab a bag of popcorn, plop yourselves down on the couch, and stay tuned to watch this Democrat circus act play out.
