On March 18, Assembly Bill 148—which would legalized campus carry—passed the Nevada Assembly Judiciary Committee and is now headed to the Assembly floor.

AB 148 is sponsored by Assemblywoman Michele Fiore (R-Las Vegas), who has been mocked by gun control groups around the country for her non-apologetic push to arm women for self-defense on college campuses.

For example, on March 3, Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore suggested the push to arm women against sexual assault was just an outgrowth of Fiore’s “thuglife.”

But the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the Judiciary Committee passed Fiore’s bill, and it now goes to the Assembly floor for consideration. Campus carry is also on the move in Florida, Texas, and 11 other states.

If passed, Fiore’s bill also opens more public buildings and unsecured portions of airports to those with concealed carry permits.

In early December, Breitbart News reported that Fiore welcomed her designation as Nevada GOP Majority Leader by saying, “We’re getting our gun rights back.”
