GOP Minority Leader Robert Huff Looks to Fill Mike Antonovich Seat

State Sen. Robert Huff (R-Diamond Bar) threw his hat into the ring for Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors next year by signing a statement indicating his interest in running in 2016.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the current California minority leader signed the “501” form which grants him the ability to raise money for the campaign.

Although Huff lives in the 4^th District, he plans on running for the 5^th District, which will be vacated by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich due to his term limit expiring after 36 years on the job. Huff will need to move into the district in order to run for office.

Also calling for a moving van is prosecutor Elan Carr, who will need to move to the South Bay so that he can run for Supervisor for the 5^th District.

Current Supervisor for the 4^th District Don Knabe will also be resigning due to term limit restrictions.

Carr ran an unsuccessful bid for Congress in November, losing to Ted Lieu for the seat long held by Democrat Henry Waxman.

Antonovich endorsed his top aide Republican Kathryn Barger, who announced her candidacy back in October.
