New Yorker editor David Remnick called out Hillary Clinton on Sunday, saying her press conference addressing her private email scandal proved that she thinks voters are stupid.
On ABC’s This Week, Remnick said he wished Clinton’s press conference in which she admitted that she deleted nearly 30,000 “personal” emails had been more convincing.
Host George Stephanopoulos, who used to be Bill Clinton’s White House communications director, asked Remnick, “You weren’t convinced by the press conference, either?”
“Not at all,” Remnick replied. “I thought that performance was… look, it’s one thing for a politician to be stupid, which Hillary Clinton is not. It’s quite another for a politician to believe that we’re stupid. And that is deflating.”
