Kansas senators are now considering Senate Bill 45, a bill which would rescind the license requirement for concealed carry in the state.
On February 13 Breitbart News reported this same type of legislation was passed by New Hampshire’s senate.
The Kansas bill would allow gun owners to carry their guns concealed without a permit in a state that already has open carry “with few exceptions.”
According to KSHB 41, SB45 is sponsored by senators Greg Smith (R-21st Dist.), Mary Pilcher-Cook (R-1oth Dist.), and Rob Olsen (R-23rd Dist.) and it has strong support within the senate. Its passage is “all but certain.”
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America believes the bill to be “dangerous,” saying it “would allow people with criminal records and no training whatsoever in firearms safety to walk about Kansas anywhere [with a gun].” Moms Demand Action did not explain whether individuals with criminal records are waiting for the law to be changed before they carry guns concealed on their persons.
