California Governor Jerry Brown is one of the individuals Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin believes has a serious shot at cinching the Democratic nomination for president in 2016–should Hillary Clinton not run as expected.

Speaking Sunday, on ABC’s This Week, Halperin said, “I think it’s a little bit of a fallacy to say the Democrats have no bench.”  He proceeded to list the names of potential presidential candidates after his projected nominee, Hillary Clinton:

They have Joe Biden, they have John Kerry, they have Jerry Brown. They have Martin O’Malley. They’ve got people who could step in if she [Clinton] falters. Right now, she’s so far and away the most likely President of the United States.

Halperin noted that if Hillary “performs” and “shows authenticity” in 2016, “it would be hard to beat her.”
