Senate Minority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-NV) is slated to have additional eye surgery on Wednesday. The battered leader has been long recovering from what’s been reported as an accident while exercising at home.
Reid’s office released a statement saying the surgery is scheduled at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
“This is a necessary step to assist in recovering full vision in his right eye,” the statement said. “His recovery will require him to miss the rest of the week but he is not expected to miss any more time in the office beyond that.”
Reid was spotted at the Capitol on Monday. “On his way out, Reid told reporters that he thinks President Obama on Wednesday will formally submit his request for an authorization for use of military force against the Islamic State terror group.”
Still unpopular at home, Republicans have been making an effort to recruit an A-list contender to take him on should he seek re-election as he claims.
