On February 2, an unnamed Forsyth County, Georgia, woman was cornered in her home and shot three times before she returned fire and sent the suspects fleeing.
The two suspects are a black man and black woman, and police are uncertain if they were shot or how many times they may have been shot.
According to Forsyth News, the woman was asleep in her house, when she was awakened by a noise. Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Doug Rainwater said the woman “either came out or [the suspects] went into her bedroom,” and she “either had a gun with her or retrieved a gun and shot back.”
Prior to shooting at the suspects, the woman was “shot three times, including at least once in the stomach.” She was taken to a hospital for treatment, and Rainwater said the woman was conscious during transport and able describe her attackers to police.
He believes the attack was the result of “a burglary gone wrong,” and he has “zero reason to believe” the suspects remain in the area.
