Based on a report from the Cheat Sheet, the Washington Post points out that you need to make $108,092 a year to live comfortably in Washington, DC.
Last week the newspaper reported that the city ranked 10th in the most millionaires per capita compared with states. As far as states go in that regard, Maryland has the most and Virginia comes in at number 6. That matters, given that both surround D.C.
The cities above D.C. and the dollars required to live there “comfortably” include Manhattan at $169,639; Brooklyn at $131,365; San Francisco at $124,561; Queens at $116,907 and San Jose at $115,515.
That certainly is a lot of green for some very blue states.
This week, a report from Cheat Sheet says D.C. has the third-highest percentage of households earning at least $150,000 a year among cities with at least 500,000 people. San Francisco and San Jose ranked first and second, respectively.
