Could the third time be the charm for former Governor Mitt Romney?
Many Republicans want new blood, and while they think Romney is a swell guy, they feel his time has passed, and that Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, or some other like-minded candidate would have a better shot of defeating the Democrat nominee in 2016.
But don’t count Romney out. He has said that he is considering another run for the presidency, and a recent speech in Mississippi, where he bashed Hillary Clinton, could be another sign that he is ramping up for it.
Romney told students at Mississippi State University this week that Clinton lacked credibility in foreign policy and economics.
Can you all say Benghazi?
Romney remarked about Clinton:
How can Secretary Clinton provide opportunity for all if she doesn’t know where jobs come from in the first place?…
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton cluelessly pressed a reset button for Russia, which smiled and then invaded Ukraine, a sovereign nation… We need to help make the world a safer place.
Again, what about Benghazi? But as Hillary once said, “What difference does it make?”
Romney still has $2 million dollars in his campaign account, which would give him the early upper-hand in the soon-to-be crowded field of Republican presidential candidates.
Romney will have to go toe-to-toe with Gov. Chris Christie and former Governor Jeb Bush, as all three will be vying to garner the same moderate and establishment Republican voting bloc.
