President Obama appears on the digital pages of the Huffington Post to promote his budget, calling it a “blueprint for middle-class economics.”
In his post, Obama calls for the federal government to make more “investments” (spending) and closing tax “loopholes” (raising taxes), to help the American economy.
He also indicates a desire for more spending on manufacturing, infrastructure, and combating bacteria, as well as policies to ensure Americans get guaranteed paid sick leave and free community college.
“As a country, we have made it through some hard times. But we’ve laid a new foundation,” he wrote. “We’ve got a new future to write. And I am eager to get to work.”
