On Wednesday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer discussed the obvious conflict between the Obama White House and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahi.
According to Krauthammer, it was perhaps a mistake for House Speaker John Boehner to invite the Israeli prime minister to address a joint session of Congress.
“I think that’s right and I think it was good that he was honest enough and candid enough to say anybody who has watched the administration who has looked, seen and read the leaks the administration has released relating to the prime minister knows how deep that antipathy is,” Krauthammer said of the Obama administration’s antipathy toward Netanyahu. “I think the invitation itself is probably a mistake. Nonetheless, this is a real critical moment and you’re the Congress. The president is about to go ahead with a deal that he says he won’t even essentially listen to Congress about whereas he needs to under American law. But again, he has ignored the law many times before so they are looking for an avenue. I’m not sure it was the best avenue.”
