When Jeb Bush pushed for comprehensive amnesty legislation at a December Wall Street Journal event, Rupert Murdoch reportedly confided to Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama’s senior adviser, that Bush had “said all the right things” on the issue.
Murdoch, the Chairman of the group that owns Fox News and the Journal, reportedly requested to sit next to Jarrett at the event, and he was “pleased” that Bush, whom Murdoch has repeatedly praised at the expense of Mitt Romney, “had listed the economic benefits of overhauling the nation’s immigration system,” according to a New York Times report.
After dining with Jarrett last year, Murdoch published an op-ed in which he said comprehensive amnesty legislation and an unlimited number of high-tech visas that would lower the wages of American workers “can’t wait.”
