Lindsey Graham: ‘I Think I’m Well Qualified’ to Be President

On Friday’s “Fox & Friends,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) made an appearance to discuss the fallout from the collapse of Yemen in recent days.

However, toward the end of the segment, Graham discussed 2016 presidential politics. According to Graham, the next nominee of the Republican Party would be someone that could “articulate an alternative to Barack Obama” and maintain a tough line toward our enemies abroad, particularly the Middle East.

Co-host Steve Doocy suggested that Graham was describing himself, to which Graham responded that he’s keeping the consideration on the table.

“Well, all I can say is i think I’m well qualified for that task and others,” Graham said. “But the good news for the Republican Party, we have a chance here to rebuild America before it’s too late and articulate how you defend the country. It’s not just about killing terrorists. It’s about building up other people in the region and when they tell you to your face, it’s better to be America’s enemy than friend, somebody needs to fix that.”

Graham said he expected to make a decision by May.

“I’m going to look long and hard at it,” he added. “I think I’m well qualified for the job, but it’d be up to the people of my party to make that decision with a lot of good choices.”
