Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) thinks GOP primary voters are ready to turn the page on Mitt Romney, who is seriously considering another presidential run and could be a potential rival.

“Look, I like Governor Romney, I like him personally, I think he is a good person, I think he was a great businessman,” Paul, a likely ’16 contender, said. “But you know that’s yesterday’s news.”

Paul told Fox News Radio’s Josh Gibson on Monday that if Romney “runs to the right of Jeb Bush, he’ll still be to the left of the rest of the party, so it may be a difficult spot to occupy.”

Romney, the career candidate who has failed twice running for the White House, told donors last week that he is seriously considering another run in 2016. Romney has previously indicated that he–and not Jeb Bush–is the de facto leader of the moderate establishment wing of the GOP known for losing general elections.
