On Friday, an unidentified robber entered Milwaukee’s Level Up Barber Shop, asked a few questions, then pulled a gun and began patting down potential robbery victims — but was fatally surprised by a barbershop customer who pulled a concealed carry handgun and shot the suspect dead.

According to WISN 12, the incident took place about 12:30 pm. The shop’s co-owner,  identified as only as “Ty,” said the suspect came in and “asked some questions about how much a haircut costs.” He then went to the restroom, apparently “to put his mask on and get his gun ready.”

Ty said the suspect then emerged from the restroom and began patting down customers. That’s when “one of the [customers] pulled a gun and shot the [suspect].”

Ty said the armed customer “protected himself and other patrons.”

There was a second surprise awaiting the suspect as well — Ty also has a concealed carry permit and says he “is always on guard because of the violence in Milwaukee.” He said, “It’s like nobody wants to work for an honest living anymore.”
