Molly Ball, Politics Writer for The Atlantic, argued that Kentucky Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) had been somewhat domesticated by fellow Kentucky Senator, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) on Monday’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on MSNBC.
In a discussion on the potential impact the 2016 presidential elections could have on Congress, she said “McConnell has a few presidential candidates in his caucus. [Sen.] Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rand Paul, [Sen.] Marco Rubio (R-FL)…McConnell is cognizant of that and that’s going to be a complication for him. But Cruz was going to be a problem for him no matter what. Rand is someone that he’s sort of managed to domesticate through their home state alliance.”
Ball added that Marco Rubio might avoid running in 2016 because Jeb Bush is from the same state and both men “have a similar donor base and appeal.”
