From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:
An anonymous donor dropped a $1,400 diamond ring inside a Salvation Army kettle at the Dierbergs store in Florissant on Tuesday.
The gold, ½ karat diamond ring was donated with an appraisal letter that had “for the feast of Stephen” scrawled on the back.
Salvation Army Capt. Karen Holness discovered the ring when she opened the kettle to total the day’s donations.
“We are truly thankful to the anonymous donor who graciously dropped this beautiful ring into the kettle,” Holness said Wednesday. “It is truly encouraging to know someone out there would see something of their past go toward a new beginning or second chance for someone in need.”
