A video posted on Facebook shows several African American teens slapping, harassing, and abusing an elderly passenger on Chicago’s Blue Line city train.
A teenager who posted the disturbing video on Facebook claimed that the elderly man was “saying some racial slurs,” but he recorded the video because he thought his friends’ abuse of the man was “funny.”
One of the violent participants told the local CBS affiliate, “We didn’t do nothing.”
Despite the posted video, neither the Chicago Police nor the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) received an incident report.
Through a statement, the CTA said, “We encourage members of the public who witness a crime to report it immediately, especially if they have evidence such as a video. Incidents like this are rare on the CTA.”
