One week after he first requested billing details related to Jonathan Gruber’s contract with the state of Vermont, state Auditor Douglas Hoffer has yet to receive any information about the details of Gruber’s contract from the administration of Democratic Governor Peter Shumlin.
“Nothing yet,” Hoffer told Breitbart News in an email on Monday responding to our inquiry checking up on the Shumlin administration’s response to his information request.
“Perhaps not surprising, however,” Hoffer added,”as it must have taken a lot of time and effort to find and prepare the 2,400 pages of documents [related to the Gruber contract released last week to the Vermont Press Bureau.]”
According to Neal Goswami, bureau chief of the Vermont Press Bureau, those emails were redacted, as the Shumlin administration claimed many of the emails were covered by “executive privilege.”
Breitbart News has requested a copy of those 2,400 pages of documents from Robin Lunge, Vermont’s director of health care reform, but has yet to receive a response.
One day before Gruber is scheduled to testify about “health law deceptions” before the federal House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, chaired by Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA), details of Gruber’s $280,000 contract with the state of Vermont remain shrouded in mystery.
Governor Shumlin has announced that he will make his financing plan for Vermont’s single-payer health plan system public on December 29 or December 30. Gruber’s contract with the state of Vermont specifically states that his financial and economic modeling work is designed to assist the Shumlin administration in the development of that plan.
According to the 2011 enabling legislation, Governor Shumlin is required to present his financing plan to the State Legislature by January 15, 2015.
