Following what has become a trend under President Obama, Black Friday 2014 gun sales boomed to such a degree that the FBI performed nearly three NCIS background checks every second.
The pace was so great that the FBI believes the final tally on background checks for November 28 will surpass “last year’s 144,758.”
According to CNN, “an average of almost three [background checks] per second [is] nearly three times the daily average” seen throughout the rest of the year.
Breitbart News previously reported there were 97,848 background checks in 2008 under President George W. Bush. The number was static in 2009 but then began growing as Obama and the Democrat leadership pushed for more gun control. By 2011, Black Friday background checks totaled 129,166.
In 2012, the number jumped to 154,873 then fell back back to 144,758 in 2013, after Senator Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) gun control bill was defeated.
As it now stands, background checks for Black Friday 2014 could be record-breaking.
