CDC Did Not Consider Second Ebola Victim 'High-Risk'

According to the Washington Post, the embattled Centers for Disease Control (CDC) did not consider America’s second Ebola patient “high risk” and had followed all the CDC’s precautions “including a gown, gloves, mask and protective face shield.”

“We’re very concerned,” said Texas Health Resources chief clinical officer Daniel Varga. 

A Texas Health Resources press release states the unnamed Ebola patient “had been under the self-monitoring regimen prescribed by the CDC, based on involvement in caring for patient Thomas Eric Duncan during his inpatient care that started on September 28.”

The second Ebola patient–considered America’s first Ebola transmission–is currently in stable condition in isolation.
