As news of the beheading of an Oklahoma woman swept the nation Friday afternoon, all eyes turned to the White House to see whether President Barack Obama would cancel his 4:30 p.m. Democratic National Committee roundtable fundraiser at a private Washington home to issue a statement.
According to Moore, Oklahoma Police Department Sgt. Jeremy Lewis, the man alleged to have beheaded victim Colleen Hufford is Alton Nolen.
“After conducting interviews with co-workers of Nolen’s, information was obtained that he recently started to convert some of his co-workers to the Muslim religion,” said Sgt. Lewis during a Friday afternoon press conference.
Whether Obama plans to cancel his Friday fundraiser to make a public statement is presently unclear.
Earlier this month, Obama told NBC News he regretted the “optics” surrounding his decision to go golfing just minutes after making a speech about the beheading of another American, journalist James Foley, who was beheaded by ISIS terrorists.
