Senator Mark Udall (D-CO) is running nearly ten points behind his GOP challenger–Representative Cory Gardner (R-CO-4th Dist.)–and one of the reasons is a backlash against Obama.

According to a Quinnipiac University poll released September 18, Gardner is currently ahead 48 to 40.

With the third candidate–Steve Shogan (I)–out of the race, Gardner’s lead increases to 52 percent over Udall’s 42 percent.

“37 percent” of respondents said their vote in the Senate race “is a vote against President Barack Obama.”

On September 3, Breitbart News reported that Udall’s position on ISIS was the same position Obama holds. Following the beheading of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, Udall suggested a wait-and-see approach to ISIS, which relies on appeals to “moderate Sunnis” and continued “targeted airstrikes” but no boots on the ground.

He said ISIS poses “[no] immediate threat to the homeland.”

On September 18, Breitbart News reported that ISIS is calling for attacks against U.S. soldiers in the homeland.
