Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin took the “Ice Bucket Challenge” to raise awareness for ALS on Saturday and posted the video on Facebook. After being challenged by employees of Wasilla Arctic Cat, Palin, in her patented manner, reminded Americans that the most important part of the challenge is the donation for ALS research.
She then poured Dr. Pepper into a glass along with some ice and said that would be her “Ice Bucket Challenge.” As she was sipping her Dr. Pepper and challenging Hillary Clinton and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who Hillary Clinton has said was her favorite Republican, Palin got drenched with a bucket of ice water. She urged Americans to learn more about ALS and the story behind the #icebucketchallenge:
I accept Wasilla Arctic Cat’s #icebucketchallenge to #strikeoutALS and will donate to the Pete Frates #3 Fund. Watch my video to see whom I challenge. Hat tip to actor Patrick Stewart for reminding everyone with his video that the donation is the most important part of the #icebucketchallenge, not the frivolous water-tossing theatrics that those of us who are more thoughtfully serious choose to forgo.
