LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker says he is not ruling out joining the field of Republicans running for president in 2016.

Corker said Wednesday that any decision would wait until next year. If Corker joined the race, he would have to play catch up to Republicans with higher national profiles. Corker hasn’t visited any early primary states and has no current plans to do so. He also says he has not been in talks with major donors.

Corker is a multimillionaire who made a fortune as the head of a construction company. He has been willing to work with Democrats on the auto bailout and financial regulations, which has brought criticism from fellow Republicans.

Corker is two years into his second term.
