Obama Threatens Action Without Congress on Border Crisis During Recess

As House Republicans continued working on a pair of bills to respond to the border crisis, President Obama blasted their efforts as “extreme and unworkable.”

Obama held a press conference Friday afternoon, taking credit for his administration’s acting on its own to slow the flow of migrants crossing the border. He also threatened to act on his own on immigration during the August recess.

Obama noted the Republicans decided to sue him for acting on his own to solve the problem, but at the same time blamed him for the border crisis.
