If book sales of the last three weeks are any indication, Hillary Clinton’s life is nowhere near as interesting for those who want to know than the internecine warfare between the Clintons and the Obamas. The last three weeks, Clinton’s book Hard Choices has been outsold by Ed Klein’s Blood Feud: The Clintons v. the Obamas.
Meanwhile, Daniel Halper’s new book, Clinton Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding Rebuilding of a Political Machine, is outselling both books on Amazon; Halper stands at No. 23 on the Amazon list; Klein’s book is No. 39; Clinton’s is at No. 124.
Klein’s book is one spot ahead of Clinton’s on the New York Times hardcover nonfiction bestseller list and 85 spots above it on Amazon’s sales rankings. Clinton’s tome has seen its sales plunge from 86,000 the first week to 10,000 last week, according to Nielsen BookScan. Conversely, Klein’s book has been selling over 17,000 the last three weeks.
Correct the Record, a group designed to protect Clinton from GOP attacks, sent reporters a 12-point memo outlining exactly how successful Hard Choices was, asserting that first-week sales were greater than Sarah Palin’s 2010 book America by Heart.
