Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s call for Republicans to try to impeach Obama would be a mistake.
“I respect always Sarah Palin’s views but my particular view is that we should devote our energies on regaining a majority in the Senate,” he said when asked by Breitbart News to respond to his former presidential campaign running mate.
McCain added that Republicans effort to impeach President Bill Clinton was “not a good thing to do,” explaining that the American people didn’t appreciate it.
When asked if it would be a mistake for Republicans to go down the a similar path with Obama, McCain replied, “Yes.”
McCain also pointed out that even if Republicans were successful at impeaching Obama in the House, they were “never going to get 67 votes” in the Senate.
