On Tuesday, Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us group teamed up with President George W. Bush’s Presidential Library and hosted a forum to push amnesty legislation.
According to the Dallas Morning News, “AT&T Inc., the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce, FWD.us, the Texas Association of Business and the Texas Business Leadership Council” hosted the event at the Library.
Bush, along with the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), was unsuccessful in his attempt to pass comprehensive immigration reform legislation with a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants and massive increases in guest-worker permits during his presidency.
“The only way we will get absolute security at our borders is to allow legal immigration for people who want to come here to work,” Bill Hammond, president and CEO of the Texas Association of Business, said, according to the outlet.
FWD.us President and Founder Joe Green said that “immigration reform in the United States is long overdue.”
As Breitbart News has been reporting, FWD.us, like much of the high-tech industry, has spent millions to get “massive increases in the number of guest-worker visas, even though numerous nonpartisan scholars and studies have proven that America has a surplus – not a shortage – of high-tech workers.”
Even after President Barack Obama all but gave up on amnesty legislation and said that he would try to enact as many executive actions to change the country’s immigration laws, FWD.us urged Congress to pass amnesty legislation as soon as possible.
