On Monday, the Koch brothers launched a new super PAC for the 2014 midterm elections.
According to Politico, the Freedom Partners Action Fund “aims to spend more than $15 million in the 2014 midterm campaigns,” which is reportedly “part of a much larger spending effort expected to total $290 million.”
The super PAC will be different from other Koch initiatives because it will specifically advocate for or against candidates and disclose the names of its donors.
Marc Short, president of the Koch’s Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, told Politico that the PAC “will support candidates who share our vision of free markets and a free society and oppose candidates who support intrusive government policies that push the American Dream out of reach for the American people.”
The Koch’s Freedom Partners group, which is a 501c6 unlike the super PAC, does not have to disclose its donors.
