In an interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton clarified what she meant when she said that she and Bill Clinton were “dead broke” when they left the White House.
Clinton said that the debt that they had was a “reality” when they left the White House that she had to struggle with.
Clinton added that both of them had college debt but had to pay them off by getting jobs.
Clinton pointed out that her “life experience” was “different” but that she had “gone through some of the same challenges” faced by ordinary Americans.
