Last week, Kahr Firearms Group began their move out of New York and away from the SAFE Act by breaking ground for a new factory in Pike County, Pennsylvania.

Their plan to relocate includes “headquarters… research… and assembly,” and is expected to take five years.

According to The Washington Free Beacon, company founder and president Justin Moon made it clear Kahr wants to be somewhere that they can build guns without business-crippling regulation.

Said Moon: “The best pistol to have with you in an emergency is the one you have with you, and Kahr is a very comfortable carry. When good people carry firearms, bad guys think twice.”

Pennsylvania Lt. Governor Jim Cawley welcomed the move, saying, “As much as this is a good story for Pike County and the Pocono region, this is great news for the entire Commonwealth [of Pennsylvania].”
