Conservative groups in Nebraska are flooding airwaves in Nebraska to warn voters that Sid Dinsdale, the Republican candidate for Senate, donated to Democrats, vowed to support every debt-limit increase, and declared that pro-life issues are not worth fighting for right now in D.C.
As Breitbart News has reported, Dinsdale is currently in third place against establishment candidate Shane Osborne and conservative Ben Sasse, who has been endorsed by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT). Sasse, who has centered his campaign around opposing Obamacare, has a slight lead going into the May 13 primary.
Dinsdale has donated to liberal Democrats, including someone who challenged Sen. Mike Johanns, whose seat he is trying to take. In addition, Dinsdale said last year that though he is “pro-life,” he sees “a time in our country where you have to set aside something like that and try to work on the things you can get done,” as Breitbart News reported. His sister also served on the board of Planned Parenthood.“
Dinsdale says he is pro-life and in March, the Nebraska Right To Life endorsed him.
The Club for Growth purchased a six-figure buy that asks Nebraskans, “do you really know his record?”
The commercial reminds Nebraskans that Dinsdale said he would “always vote to raise the debt limit” and has given thousands of dollars to Democrats while saying Obamacare has some good aspects.
The conservative Madison Project calls Dinsdale a “counterfeit conservative” and a “liberal” who is trying to fool voters. In a radio ad, the narrator says conservatives are “sick of politicians who run for office as conservatives and vote with the liberal elite once they get to Washington.” The narrator says Dinsdale would do exactly that, having donated to liberal Democrats and vowed to give President Barack Obama a blank check to spend more.
“The last thing Washington D.C. needs is another counterfeit conservative,” the narrator says. “Say no to counterfeit conservative Sid Dinsdale for Senate.”
The 60 Plus Association also slams Dinsdale for vowing to always “vote to raise the debt limit” in television commercials and says Dinsdale would be Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) best negotiating partner.
The commercials tell Nebraskans that a vote to always raise the debt limit is a vote to always fund Obamacare.
“If Dinsdale never says ‘no’ to new debt, Nebraskans should say ‘no’ to Dinsdale,” the narrator says.
