Democrats have a one percent chance of winning a majority in the House of Representatives, according to one Washington Post forecasting model.
John Sides, an Associate Professor of Political Science at George Washington University, put together an election forecasting model based on a a number of factors including presidential approval ratings, the midterm elections, partisan divides. (Read his breakdown here)
As Chris Cillizza quips in a followup post: “A one percent chance is a chance — just not much of one.”
But that’s not stopping Democratic National Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz from staying positive.
“I will match up our ground game and our turnout operation… any day of the week,” Wasserman Schultz told host David Gregory on Sunday’s Meet the Press. “We ran circles around the the Republicans in 2012 and 2008.”
