On Thursday from 8:30 AM EST to 4:00 PM EST, Breitbart News will partner with the Tea Party Patriots to broadcast the monumental event commemorating the five-year anniversary of the Tea Party movement that has rocked and changed America’s political landscape.
Breitbart.com will livestream the event, which conservative talk radio host Mark Levin will keynote. Sean Hannity will deliver a capstone address. Tea Party Patriots founder Jenny Beth Martin, Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rand Paul (R-KY), Mike Lee (R-UT), Jeff Sessions (R-AL), and Reps. Steve King (R-IA), Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Jim Bridenstine (R-OK), and many other elected officials and grassroots activists will speak as well.
“Since we first embarked on this bold undertaking to fight for our natural inalienable rights, Andrew Breitbart and his team had been ardent and tireless supporters of the cause for freedom,” Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin said. “We can not overstate how much their support has helped advance our cause and, while there are many more causes to champion on the horizon, we look forward to counting Breitbart.com as a staunch ally in the years to come.”
Martin said that her organization “has fought tirelessly for the freedom of the average American to choose their healthcare, ensured that their tax dollars are spent wisely, and demanded that elected Members of Congress fulfill their duty to represent the people.”
Breitbart CEO and President Larry Solov said, “As Breitbart News Network continues to expand and bring news from around the world to our readers, we look to increase ways to reach our readers with timely, breaking news and events. One way we do this is to bring live events to our pages so viewers can see news happening in real time.”
Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon said that the “rise of the Tea Party is one of the most important news stories of the last ten years and will continue to be going forward.”
“The Tea Party has influenced elections, changed or thwarted legislation, and has been the tip of the grassroots spear for citizens who are fed up with business as usual in Washington, D.C.,” he said. “We look forward to bringing our readers more rallies and breaking news events over the coming year.”
Breitbart.com will broadcast seven and a half hours of coverage of the event honoring a movement that congealed in 2009 after Rick Santelli’s “rant heard around the world” in which he said those who would become known as Tea Partiers are Americans “who carry the water.” After Santelli’s remarks, Americans of all stripes who were disgusted by George W. Bush’s big-government policies and inspired by Sarah Palin in 2008 formed a grassroots movement that Santelli said, unlike the Occupy Movement, has achieved significant and tangible results in a short amount of time while threatening both political establishments.
The livestream of the event can be seen on Breitbart.com beginning at 8:30 AM EST on Thursday, February 27, 2014.
